Will it work with my EV?

Yes. It charges through Type 2, tethered or socket, so any EV sold in Malaysia works.

Your actual charging speed will depend on the lower of two limits: the charger’s rating and your car’s onboard AC charger (many EVs cap AC charging at 7 kW or 11 kW, so a 22 kW wallbox won’t push them any faster).

Will it work with my home?

Most landed homes are on single-phase, which suits the 7.4 kW TeltoCharge (32 A).

Installing the 11 kW or 22 kW version requires a three-phase electrical supply. Having three-phase isn’t the end of it. Your installer still has to check there’s spare capacity once the aircons and water heater are counted.

Charging Speed & Overnight Time

On single-phase, a 7.4 kW unit adds roughly 35 to 40 km of range per hour. Plug in after dinner and most cars are full by morning.

Faster only counts if your car and your DB can both take it. For daily driving, 7.4 kW overnight is plenty.

Power Rating Est. Speed (km/hr) 0–100% (60 kWh Battery)
7.4 kW (Single-phase) ~35–40 km/hr ~8–9 hrs
11 kW (Three-phase) ~55–60 km/hr ~5–6 hrs
22 kW (Three-phase) ~110–120 km/hr ~3 hrs

Installation & Safety

A good charger badly wired is still a bad charger. For the Teltonika TeltoCharge, a proper job includes:

  • A dedicated EV circuit originating from your distribution board (DB).
  • Cable sized for hours at full load. A 32 A charger runs flat out all night, so undersized wire will cook.
  • Proper earthing and surge/circuit protection.
  • A load check before anything is drilled, so you know your supply can carry it.
  • Full testing and compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) EVCS guidelines.
  • Assistance with TNB application (if supply upgrades are needed).

Smart Features

  • Scheduled charging: set in the Teltonika app
  • Energy tracking: per-session kWh
  • Start options: app or RFID card
  • Adjustable current: set to match your DB
  • OCPP 1.6J: for a CPO or condo billing system

Dynamic Load Balancing

The TeltoCharge does static, dynamic and phase load balancing. With a meter on your supply (wired over RS485), it adjusts its current to what the house is using. Without it, the installer sets a fixed cap.

Cable & Everyday Convenience

Tethered versions come with a 5m or 7.5m Type 2 cable. The 7.5m makes sense if you reverse in and the port is far from the wall.

Weather & Durability

The datasheet says IP55 and IK10. That’s fine for rain on a porch wall, but not direct jets. A roofed spot is still best.

App User Experience

You manage it through the Teltonika Energy app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, with scheduling, RFID card management and history.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only the 22 kW model, on three-phase with spare capacity. Single-phase homes get 7.4 kW.

Yes. It charges through Type 2, the standard on every EV sold in Malaysia. Real speed is the lower of the charger rating and your car's onboard AC charger, usually 7 to 11 kW.

Most terrace and semi-D homes are single-phase, which tops out at 7.4 kW. Three-phase is more common in bigger or newer homes. Your TNB meter or installer can tell you.

At 7.4 kW, about 35 to 40 km of range per hour. A 60 kWh battery goes from 20% to 80% in roughly 5 hours.

Energi Elite lists it from RM3,899. Installation is extra, usually RM800 to RM1,700 for a standard job.

Teltonika's datasheet says IP55 with an IK10 shell. Rain is fine, but mount it under a roof for the long run.

Teltonika gives 36 months from purchase. Workmanship warranty comes from your installer.
