So you know that new EV brand iCAUR? Well, they just made history by opening their very first dealership anywhere in the world, and guess what? It’s right here in Malaysia, specifically in Glenmarie, Shah Alam!
This happened on August 27, 2025. Pretty big deal when you think about it. Out of all the places they could have chosen globally, they picked our country first.
A Bit of Background on iCAUR
Before we go further, let me tell you where this brand actually comes from. The iCAUR brand (originally called iCar in China) was created by Chery, one of China’s major automotive manufacturers. Interestingly, they had actually used variations of the “iCar” name several times before finally establishing it as a standalone electric vehicle brand.
So basically, we’re getting a Chinese EV brand, but they’re treating Malaysia as their global launchpad. Not bad, eh?
What’s the Deal with This New Place?
The dealership is run by Absolute Motor Sdn Bhd, and they’re not messing around. It’s a proper 3S center, which means you can buy your car there, get it serviced, and buy spare parts all under one roof.
They’ve set up multiple service bays, so you won’t have to wait forever to get your car fixed. Plus, they have dedicated EV charging facilities right there for customers. Smart move, considering more people are switching to electric cars these days.
The iCAUR 03 is Coming Soon
Here’s something exciting. The iCAUR 03 will officially launch on September 9, 2025. If you’re interested, you can already put down a booking fee of RM1,000. Don’t worry though, it’s fully refundable if you change your mind.
They’re planning to bring two variants to Malaysia. The car itself is an electric SUV that uses LFP battery technology. They’ve designed it specifically for Malaysian road conditions, which is always good to hear.
